Saturday, January 23, 2010 - State Capitol - Austin, Texas

A bus will be coordinated by Life Advocates and you can contact us by e-mail or call (713) 682-5433 for more information. Life Advocates will have a bus leaving from Annunciation Catholic Church (Downtown Houston). Cost is $20.00 per adult and $5.00 per kid for the Life Advocate bus.

Life Advocate Bus Schedule leaving from Annunciation Catholic Church, 1618 Texas Avenue, Houston, Texas:


•8:30 a.m. - Bus leaves Houston from Annunciation Catholic Church for Austin.


•12:00 p.m. - Bus arrives in Austin. Bus will go to a designated lunch area. You may bring a sack lunch or bring money to buy a lunch.


•1:00 p.m. - Bus will take passengers to the Republic Square for the march to the Capitol.


•1:30 p.m. - March to the State Capitol for the Rally for Life.


•2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. - Rally for Life.


•4:00 p.m. - Bus leaves Austin for Houston.


•7:00 p.m. - Bus arrives in Houston at Annunciation Catholic Church.

** Snacks and drinks will be provided on the Life Advocate bus. **

Father Matthias MSP Coming to Veritas!!!

Our Beloved Father Matthias Selemobri witht he Missionary Society of St. Paul, who has been such a good customer and pro-life advocate, is returning to Houston and will be at Veritas this Tuesday, November 24th. Father Matthias has just written is first book, Stations of the Resurrection, and will be signing copies at Veritas.

Another day another Lie

Dan Brown is back. Rather I should say Ron Howard and Hollywood is back with another installment of revisionist history coupled with radical feminist, anti-Christ amorality rolled into the movie rendition of Dan Brown's Angels and Demons. The new film makes ludicrous claims like Holy Communion was borrowed from the Aztecs! Never-mind the fact that the Mass was celebrated before the Aztec civilization began. But then again the Da Vinci Code purported that Our Blessed Lord was an impostor who had an affair with Mary Magdalene and their descendants were kept secret by the Catholic Church. Unfortunately, many people are as ignorant of historical facts as they are of their faith that they stupidly buy into the blasphemous calumnies of this pernicious Mr. Brown.
So, we will be selling all our left over Da Vinci Code rebuttal books at a 30% discount for everyone who unfortunately is going to have to take the time to inform those who take this stuff seriously with facts: hard core, reliable, archaeological, scientifically verifiable facts. The kind that get in the way of Ron Howard, Hollywood, and Dan Brown.

Now offering Bible Imprinting!

Finally, Veritas Catholic Bookstore is offering Bible imprinting services. The cost will be $10.00 per Bible imprint. At this time we only have one font type which is Goudy. However, this is the most popular font chosen for imprinting a name and/or date on Bibles.

Previously we were constantly asked for recommendations as to where to have Bibles imprinted. Believe it or not, the service is hard to find, and some places require that you only buy a Bible from their store. Well now you can buy that First Communion Bible, that Confirmation Bible, or just that gift Bible for someone else and for others and have it imprinted right here at Veritas Catholic Bookstore.
